Google Launches Android Spyware Forensics Tool for High-Risk Users

Google announced Android Intrusion Logging as part of Android Advanced Protection Mode (AAPM), a new opt-in feature (Pixel devices on Android 16+) that encrypts daily forensic logs (security events, spyware install/removal, DNS/connection events) for users to share securely with trusted analysts; the release, developed with civil-society partners, is accompanied by updates to AAPM (USB protection, restricted accessibility services, disabled device-to-device unlocking, removal of Chrome WebGPU support in mode, chat-notification scam detection) and updates to Amnesty's Android Quick Forensics and Mobile Verification Toolkit.
