UK Vulnerability Monitoring Service Cuts Unresolved Security Flaws by 75%

The UK government reports it has cut its backlog of critical vulnerabilities by 75% and reduced cyber-attack fix times by 87% after launching a Vulnerability Monitoring Service (VMS) that continuously scans roughly 6,000 public-sector internet-facing assets and accelerates remediation (e.g., reducing DNS weakness fix time from nearly two months to eight days); it also announced a Cyber Profession initiative to attract and train cyber staff and pledged funding to bolster government cybersecurity.
