A global AppOmni survey of 803 security and IT professionals finds a sharp disconnect between high confidence in SaaS security and widespread SaaS-related incidents, with many organizations relying on generalized platforms (SSE/CASB) over dedicated SSPM and lacking clarity on SaaS-specific risks. Priorities are shifting toward threat detection, app inventory, and unauthorized connection detection, while hybrid models and AI governance are gaining prominence. The report forecasts increased cybersecurity spending and recommends continuous monitoring, clear ownership, prioritization of high-risk apps, supplementing SSE with SSPM, and managing AI as an identity.
