French Football Federation Suffers Data Breach

The French Football Federation detected unauthorized access to its licensed-club management platform on November 20, leading to exposure of personal data (names, DOBs, birthplaces, nationalities, postal and email addresses, phone numbers, and license IDs) affecting potentially millions of amateur players. The FFF disabled the compromised account, reset user passwords, filed a complaint and notified CNIL and ANSSI, and warned license holders to watch for phishing attempts; a similar federation breach was reported three weeks earlier.
