Amnesty Accuses Serbia of Tracking Journalists and Activists with Spyware

Amnesty International’s report alleges that Serbian police and the Security Information Agency used Cellebrite mobile-forensics products alongside a bespoke Android spyware called NoviSpy to covertly infect and surveil journalists and activists, including exploiting a zero‑day in Qualcomm-based Android devices to bypass security and enable remote data extraction and microphone/camera activation; Cellebrite says it does not install malware and is investigating alleged misuse.
