Microsoft Fixes 400 Flaws on August Patch Tuesday

Microsoft's August Patch Tuesday addressed roughly 400 CVEs, including an actively exploited Windows zero-day (CVE-2026-68820) that enables privilege escalation via a use-after-free in the WinSock driver, plus two publicly disclosed zero-days (CVE-2026-62832 and CVE-2026-72971) that could allow authenticated local attackers to gain administrator privileges; the release also contains numerous critical RCE and EoP flaws, and organizations are urged to prioritize patching.
