UK Ransomware Payment Ban to Come with Exemptions, Security Minster Say

The UK government, represented by Security Minister Dan Jarvis, is proposing a ban on ransomware payments for public sector and critical national infrastructure, with other businesses required to notify intent to pay; the proposal includes planned national security exemptions and is subject to consultation with CNI, the private sector, Five Eyes and G7 partners and pending parliamentary time.
