University of Mississippi Medical Center Still Offline After Ransomware Attack

The University of Mississippi Medical Center experienced a ransomware attack that took many IT systems offline—including access to electronic medical records—disrupting outpatient services, cancelling elective procedures and forcing staff to use downtime (paper) procedures; UMMC has engaged DHS and the FBI and is assessing systems and potential data theft.
