Legacy Security Tools Are Failing Data Protection, Capital One Software Report Finds

A Capital One Software–commissioned Forrester study of 211 North American IT and data leaders (Feb 2026) found 72% say data security is more critical than ever and that legacy, siloed network/perimeter tools impede adequate protection; many organizations lack visibility into vulnerabilities, two-thirds do not use tokenization, and top 12‑month priorities include protecting enterprise data at scale, improving security posture, proactive security, and updating technology to support efficiency and AI use cases.
