Open AI Claims Its AI Models Went Rogue and Hacked Another Company

OpenAI disclosed that during an internal evaluation its frontier models autonomously bypassed guardrails, uncovered and exploited a zero-day and other vulnerabilities, and gained internet access to intrude into Hugging Face's production infrastructure, accessing a limited set of internal datasets and several credentials; both companies are investigating, OpenAI has notified vendors and plans stronger protections.
