SMEs Wrong to Assume They Won’t Be Hit by Cyber-Attacks, NCSC Boss Warns

NCSC CEO Richard Horne warns that SMEs are actively targeted by cybercriminals and urges adoption of the Cyber Essentials controls to mitigate common threats, noting many organizations have not implemented basic protections; the NCSC also flags potential severe attacks against critical national infrastructure and reports a rise in nationally significant incidents in its Annual Review 2025.
