Cyber Incident Disrupts Student Services at UT San Antonio

The University of Texas San Antonio detected attempted unauthorized activity at the edge of its network, took systems offline to contain and evaluate the environment, and reported no evidence of data access or exfiltration; the outage disrupted student registration, tuition payments and phone services ahead of term start, and the university planned passphrase resets for users while investigating.
