FBI, Google Take Down NetNut Proxy Network Used by Cyber Threat Actors

In a coordinated international operation FBI and Google’s Threat Intelligence Group disrupted NetNut/Popa, a large commercial residential proxy network that hijacked over two million consumer devices via a malicious SDK embedded in off‑brand Android smart TVs and apps; the network was used for credential stuffing, password‑spraying, advertising fraud, data scraping and DDoS activity, and law enforcement seizures plus Google mitigations reportedly degraded the botnet and seized related domains and C2 infrastructure.
