White House and EC-Council Launch $15m Cybersecurity Scholarship Program

The White House and EC-Council announced a $15M scholarship initiative to train over 50,000 students across eight cybersecurity domains (ethical hacking, network defense, digital forensics, threat intelligence, security operations, IoT security, DevSecOps, and cloud security), enabling delivery through universities, NSA CAEs, community colleges, and nonprofits. Aligned with the National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy, the program aims to close the significant cyber workforce gap—amid roughly 500,000 open U.S. roles—by expanding access to turnkey curricula and hands-on training that leads to well-paid cybersecurity careers.
