Microsoft Accelerates Quantum-Safe Push with New Timeline

Microsoft announced it is accelerating its transition to post-quantum cryptography, aiming to move critical products and services to PQC by 2029. The company outlines three pillars—upgrading network cryptography to TLS 1.3, building crypto-agility for data at rest, and modernizing crypto trust chains—and advises organizations to begin cryptographic discovery, define ownership and milestones, adopt modern standards, and maintain living cryptographic inventories to prepare for quantum-era risks.
