Adriatic Port Cyber-Attack by Anubis Sparks Warning Over Maritime Security Risks

Anubis-affiliated actors breached the Adriatic Port Authority (Ancona) via spear-phishing and exploitation of IT weaknesses, exfiltrating contracts, employee records and sensitive port safety/security plans before listing the data on their leak site and demanding a reported $10M ransom; Resecurity reported operational impacts including rerouted vessels and attributed the intrusion to RaaS affiliates exploiting unpatched internet-facing systems and insecure cloud/Office365 accounts.
