75% CISOs Fear Executives Don’t Understand Cybersecurity Risks Employees Face

A MetaCompliance survey of over 200 European CISOs finds that roughly three quarters believe board-level executives do not fully understand employee-driven cyber risks; respondents cited fading executive support for security awareness, growing AI-enabled social engineering, and fears of employees sharing sensitive data with generative AI, leaving many CISOs less confident in organisational cyber resilience and calling for sustained senior alignment and behaviour-led risk management.
