Fifth of Breaches Take Two Weeks to Recover From

A survey of 750 US and UK CISOs by Absolute Security finds that 55% experienced cyber incidents that disabled endpoints in the past year, with most organizations needing 3–6 days (and up to two weeks for many) to fully remediate and recover, at average costs of $2.5M. Despite rising operational and leadership stakes—72% of CISOs now lead recovery efforts and 59% fear significant personal or legal consequences—enterprises report declining emphasis on cyber-resilience (from 90% to 68% having a strategy; 83% to 65% prioritizing resilience). The report underscores the operational and financial risks of prolonged downtime, citing high-profile impacts at Jaguar Land Rover (~£1.9bn) and Marks & Spencer (~£300m).
