UK Cyber Monitoring Centre Sets Its Sights on US Expansion One Year After Launch

The UK Cyber Monitoring Centre (CMC) published a year-in-review noting two major 2025 cyber incidents: a Category 2 attack impacting Marks & Spencer and the Co-op with estimated losses of £270–£440m (median £355m), and a costliest incident at Jaguar Land Rover with estimated losses of £1.6–£2.1bn (median £1.9bn). The CMC collects data from public sources and partners to categorize incidents and confirmed plans to establish a US Cyber Monitoring Center by 2027, including forming a technical committee and adapting its methodology to the US economy.
