Palo Alto Networks' assessment warns that phishing, spoofed websites and business email compromise are the primary initial access methods likely to be used against the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Games; financially motivated ransomware gangs, nation-state espionage actors and hacktivists are expected to target ticketing, payment and event systems with credential theft, DDoS and exploitation of software/APIs.
