Halcyon: Ransomware and Data Extortion Business Risk Report

Halcyon’s survey finds widespread and recurring ransomware and data extortion over the past 24 months: substantial portions of organizations reported multiple infections (18% 10+ times, 18% 5–9 times, 30% 2–4 times), 60% experienced data exfiltration, many faced prolonged operational disruption (38% disrupted two to six+ months), and remediation costs were frequently high (59% reported incident-response costs > $1M); respondents are overly confident in prevention and recovery despite these outcomes.
