Snoopy: A distributed tracking and profiling framework

Researchers introduced Snoopy, a distributed Wi‑Fi tracking and profiling framework that deploys Linux-based drones to capture probe requests, run rogue access points, and route victim traffic over OpenVPN to a central server for aggregation, analysis, and visualization via a web interface and Maltego; leveraging Squid, sslstrip, and mitmproxy, it enables passive/active profiling, geolocation of SSIDs, cookie/credential capture, and browser fingerprinting, demonstrated through field experiments at BlackHat and London stations, with discussion of potential legal, borderline, and illegal uses and basic mitigations.
