Improving Interoperability Between Rust and C++

Google announced a $1M grant to the Rust Foundation to accelerate Rust–C++ interoperability, expand ecosystem tooling (e.g., cxx, autocxx, bindgen, cbindgen, diplomat, crubit), and publish audits for Rust crates used in open-source Google projects, aiming to improve memory safety and broaden Rust adoption across Android and other platforms while inviting broader industry collaboration through the Rust Foundation’s Interop Initiative.
