Fake Vancouver Winter Olympic Videos Spreading Malware

Attackers used a typosquatted mirror of the official Vancouver 2010 site, promoted via a Twitter account, to trick users into downloading a fake Flash codec that is actually a Windows executable Trojan/downloader. With only 11 of 41 AV vendors detecting the file on VirusTotal and the campaign timed to the highly publicized Olympics, the report warns of a high likelihood of widespread infections and advises caution when clicking shortened URLs or installing unsolicited codecs.
