Comparison of Malware Protections

This post tests how well browser blacklist/denylist protections (Google Safe Browsing, SmartScreen, Opera/Netcraft lists) detect current web-based threats—fake anti‑virus scare pages, fake video codecs, and Java/PDF/Flash exploit sites—reporting detection rates per browser and noting that while Google/Firefox detect many fake AV pages, Opera misses most malicious sites and Java exploits have increased recently.
