Zscaler ThreatLabZ reports a surge in browser-based cryptomining (cryptojacking), blocking approximately 2.5 billion web-mining attempts over six months; the report profiles the top web miners (CoinHive, Crypto-Loot, JSE-Coin, DeepMiner, Minr), documents common techniques (JS embedding, obfuscation, redirects, malicious ads), provides indicators of compromise (including domains, an IP 185.209.23.219, and a miner key), shows geographic distribution and enterprise impact, and recommends detection and mitigation measures.
