Blackhat SEO Back In Google Searches

Research from March 2012 shows an ongoing Blackhat SEO campaign that hijacks websites and creates trend-targeted pages to poison Google search results, directing users to Fake AV (scareware) pages and fake online stores; the author recorded 117 malicious domains and 1,142 spam/malicious search links (including 299 leading to Fake AV), notes increased Fake AV prevalence, and describes the attackers’ use of hijacked pages and interlinking to boost rankings while Google partially flags many of the malicious results.
