“Free World Cup stream” sites are serving scams, not football

Malwarebytes identified over 40 fraudulent World Cup-themed streaming websites that use a shared page template and a malicious advertising network to hijack clicks, open background ads/tabs, inject invisible ad pixels, and funnel visitors to scam pages, fake software updates, and malware; the report includes technical TTPs, mitigation advice, and a list of domain indicators of compromise.
