Research on iOS apps shows widespread exposure of secrets

Researchers analyzed 156,000 iOS apps and discovered more than 815,000 hard-coded secrets—on average 5.2 secrets per app—with 71% of apps leaking at least one secret and 78,000 apps exposing cloud storage buckets; the report warns this can lead to exposed PII and cloud compromise and provides consumer guidance on breach response and safer app practices.
