Advertisers are pushing ad and pop-up blockers using old tricks

The extension requests broad permissions and behaves as adware—causing redirects, altered search results, and severe browser slowdowns—so Malwarebytes detects it as Adware.Redirector and blocks the associated domain (recommendedchain.com).
