41 deceptive download sites show a real link, then send you somewhere else

A network of 41 spoofed game and software websites use convincing content and manipulated click behavior to funnel visitors into installing the Download Studio installer (SHA-256: 9a3f6e69c12cb814c45862219ecb17e9ab7744877c9da1c49f3ea046437f8fca). The pages display legitimate hover URLs and accurate product information but override clicks to perform affiliate redirects and deliver the installer, which is signed by Grand Media, TOV and enables an automatic updater previously abused to silently distribute malware; the report includes numerous network indicators and recommended user protections.
