Researchers have found that some SuperBox streaming devices and the CyberFlix TV app include Popanet residential-proxy functionality that can enroll a device into a proxy network, allowing third parties to route traffic through a home connection; the configuration reportedly exposes ADB, grants root-level privileges without authentication, and disables Android protections, enabling both anonymized criminal traffic and potential malware delivery. Law enforcement warnings and vendor research highlight the privacy, bandwidth, and security risks; affected users are advised to disconnect and replace devices and to avoid installing unauthorized streaming apps.
