Hackers commit highway robbery, stealing cargo and goods

Researchers observed a months-long cybercriminal campaign targeting North American trucking, freight, and logistics firms where attackers impersonate carriers or brokers to place bids and then redirect real cargo to theft locations; compromises occur via fake load boards, hijacked email accounts, and phishing that deliver legitimate-seeming Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools and malware to steal credentials and maintain access, causing supply-chain disruptions and financial losses.
