From Rags to Riches: The illusion of quick wealth in investment scams

Group-IB’s DRP uncovered a global investment scam that used Facebook ads and ~900 impersonation pages to pose as 35 legitimate brands (primarily in MEA) and funnel victims to fraudulent trading portals; the campaign is ongoing and Group-IB estimates at least $280,000 in losses during Mar–Jun 2023. The report describes domain/subdomain patterns, social-engineering onboarding (forms, emails, calls requesting deposits and identity documents), infrastructure linkages, regional targeting, and provides actionable recommendations for users and companies to detect and takedown fake assets.
