Group-IB’s investigation details two large-scale investment fraud schemes targeting individuals in Australia and the United States: (1) coordinated pump-and-dump campaigns leveraging deepfake social-media ads and WhatsApp groups to drive real stock price manipulation, and (2) an extensive cluster of over 200 fake cryptocurrency investment platforms that harvest KYC data and steal crypto deposits (estimated cluster revenue ≈ $187M).
