Pig Butchering Alert: Fraudulent Trading App targeted iOS and Android users

Since May 2024 Group-IB observed a global pig-butchering fraud campaign using UniApp-based fake trading apps (dubbed UniShadowTrade) on iOS and Android to social-engineer victims—initially distributed via the Apple App Store and later via phishing sites—collect identity documents and funds through a web-based fake trading terminal, and prevent withdrawals; the report includes technical details, package names (e.g., com.finans.trader, com.finans.insights, com.ubsarov.ubsarovfx), malicious domains (e.g., api.fxbrokers.cc, gold-blockhain.cc), victim geography, and mitigation recommendations.
