Venomous vacancies: Job seekers across MEA hit by sting in scammers’ tail

Group-IB’s Digital Risk Protection researchers describe an ongoing Arabic-language scam campaign (observed Jan 2022–Jan 2023 and continuing) that created 2,400+ fake Facebook pages impersonating 40+ brands across 13 MEA countries—mainly targeting logistics, food & beverage, and petroleum—to post fake job vacancies that redirect applicants to phishing sites to harvest social-media credentials, enabling account takeover, financial fraud, and brand abuse; the report includes timeline, regional and sector breakdowns, attack flow examples, and recommendations for users (2FA, unique passwords, verify links) and companies (monitoring, DRP solutions, takedowns).
