Modernizing Takedowns for Enhanced Adversarial Disruption

This article examines the increasing scale and sophistication of malicious domain activity and DNS abuse—highlighting phishing, subdomain-based campaigns, anonymity from registrars/hosting, and dark-web marketplaces—and argues that traditional takedown methods are too slow and limited; it recommends automating takedown workflows, integrating threat intelligence and IOCs, leveraging predictive AI, and strengthening industry partnerships to disrupt adversary infrastructure more effectively.
