MzansiXchange Is Transforming Data Exchange In South Africa

MzansiXchange is a National Treasury-led one-year pilot to create a secure, structured data-exchange platform (not a central repository) that enables authorized government entities to share identifiable and de-identified data for compliance, research, operational analytics, and open access. The initiative emphasizes governance, standardized protocols, MoUs/SLAs, builds on existing projects (NT-SDF, SEAD-SA), uses X-Road technology, and involves multiple departments and international partners to improve interoperability and data-driven public service delivery.
