Anonymous Sudan Launches New DDoS Attacks On U.S. Firms

In May–June 2023, hacktivist group Anonymous Sudan claimed and conducted application-layer DDoS attacks and extortion against US healthcare providers, Microsoft Office365 services (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Scandinavian Airlines, causing hours-long intermittent outages; the group posted ransom demands, claimed use of SkyNet and Godzilla botnets, and later alleged a theft of ~30 million Microsoft customer records (unverified).
