Singapore will require all residential routers sold locally to meet Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS) Level 2 by the end of 2027 after a 2025 operation found more than 2,700 compromised devices in Singapore that were part of a global botnet; the upgraded mandatory requirements will force manufacturers to implement stronger encryption, secure storage, robust authentication, and secure communications, with CSA and IMDA coordinating the regulatory rollout to improve national cyber resilience.
