Snapchat Faces EU Child Safety Probe Under Digital Services Act

The European Commission has launched a formal DSA child protection investigation into Snapchat over concerns that self-declared age verification, default account settings, content moderation, and reporting mechanisms may be insufficient to protect minors from grooming, illegal content and other risks; the probe may lead to information requests, interviews, interim measures, non-compliance decisions, fines, or commitments to remediate.
