FIFA World Cup 2026 Scams: Fake Websites, Ticket Fraud, and Job Scams Already Active

Researchers and the FBI warn that numerous typosquatting and phishing campaigns impersonating FIFA and World Cup services are actively targeting fans, job seekers, and businesses. Identified malicious domains (for example: fifa.help, fifa-online.com, jobs-fifa.com, fifa-ticket.live, fifa-hiring.com, ww-fifa.com, fifaworldcup-careers.com) are being used for ticket and hospitality fraud, recruitment scams, and to collect PII and payment card data; some sites show SSL certificates and WHOIS privacy, and domains often reappear after takedowns. The report emphasizes user precautions—type official URLs directly, verify links, avoid sharing sensitive information, preserve evidence of scams, and report incidents to IC3.
