Agentic AI Run Fraud Campaigns Earning 4.5 Times More: Interpol

Interpol’s Global Financial Fraud Threat Assessment warns that AI—especially autonomous "agentic" systems—and deepfake/deceptive services are dramatically amplifying financial crime, producing an estimated $442 billion in losses in 2025. The report documents AI-driven credential harvesting, impersonation (voice/video deepfakes), automated fraud campaigns, fraud-as-a-service marketplaces, coordinated money-laundering, large-scale BEC and sextortion operations, and associated human trafficking into scam centers, and calls for legal, regulatory, and cross-jurisdictional countermeasures.
