Dutch Health Tech Firm ChipSoft Confirms Destruction of Stolen Patient Data

ChipSoft, a Dutch medical software provider, suffered a ransomware attack in April 2026 that led to theft of patient personal and medical data and the temporary shutdown of core services (Care Portal, Care Platform, HiX Mobile). The company engaged Z-CERT and external cybersecurity experts, prevented publication of the stolen data, and reported that the compromised data was deleted; however, it has not clarified whether a ransom was paid and recovery required phased restorations affecting healthcare operations.
