Indonesian Media Outlet Tempo Targeted by 24.9 Million DDoS Requests

Tempo, an Indonesian news organization, was hit by a large-scale DDoS campaign beginning June 5, 2026, with Tempo logging 24.9 million malicious requests by June 8; the largest wave sent 12.97 million requests over a two-hour period. Tempo's analysis found bot-generated traffic originating from multiple countries (including Colombia, the U.S., the Philippines, Bangladesh, Mexico and Indonesia), and investigators believe the DDoS may be linked to a late-May CMS breach attempt that temporarily unpublished corruption-reporting articles.
