EU to Review Social Media Age Limits After Child Safety Report

The European Commission is reviewing recommendations from a Special Panel on Child Safety Online that call for stronger platform accountability under the Digital Services Act, age verification tools, potential social media age restrictions, and age-appropriate phased access to protect children from addictive algorithms, harmful content, and unwanted interactions; the Commission will review the panel's findings and may propose legislation after the summer.
