A faulty CrowdStrike Falcon channel update file (C-00000291*.sys) caused widespread Windows BSODs impacting around 9 million endpoints and disrupting airlines, banks, healthcare, and other sectors; CrowdStrike and Microsoft issued recovery guidance and a tool (manual reboot, Safe Mode removal of the file, BitLocker key recovery), with no signs of a cyberattack, while a separate Azure outage and unrelated crypto theft/domain hijacking were also noted.
