CRIL's March 2026 threat landscape reports a sharply elevated cyber threat environment driven by ransomware (702 incidents) dominated by groups such as Qilin, Akira, The Gentlemen, Dragonforce, and INC Ransom (over 56% of activity); an expanding compromised-access market (20 listings, led by vexin, holyduxy, algoyim); 54 significant data breaches and leak incidents; and active exploitation of critical vulnerabilities (including multiple CISA KEV entries). The report also highlights AI-driven attacks affecting hundreds of systems, supply-chain risks with malicious npm packages, and heightened geopolitical cyber activity.
