Australia Forms Cyber Incident Review Board to Strengthen Defences After Major Breaches

Australia has established a Cyber Incident Review Board under the Cyber Security Act 2024 to perform independent, no-fault post-incident reviews of major cybersecurity events across government and industry. Chaired by Narelle Devine and staffed by cross-sector experts, the board can compel information from organisations, aims to identify systemic gaps and produce recommendations to improve national preparedness, and was created in response to high-profile breaches such as Medibank and Optus.
